HISTORY


Back in 1976, the three Schult brothers Keith, Robert, and Jeffrey started their namesake company doing what they knew well. All three are artists and artists know the importance of frames, so they endeavored into the framing business, eventually expanding to three retail locations.  By 1984 their mother, Shirley, had joined them in the business and she continued for the next twenty years, first by managing a retail location, and then the main office of Schult Design and Display.

With hard work and high energy, their business thrived over the years and in the 1980's it took them on an interesting new path. They parlayed their knowledge of wood, metal, and composite frames into designing aluminum poster frames for movie exhibition companies. The industry was in the early stages of creating the multi-plex design nationwide. Incorporating in 1989 as Schult Industries, expansion continued by developing customers in other retail and commercial areas.

The showmanship of this industry spurred new ideas for this creative group. Soon, Schult was making signage for the box office, concession areas, auditoriums and restrooms. The movie business kept providing new opportunities for the brothers and they continued to embrace the new challenges.


TODAY


In 2003, the Schult brothers sold the company to Jeff Journagan, while the brothers stayed on as the major force of sales. With the new ownership, a set of seasoned managers was ushered in, along with the movement into digital signage and construction services for companies that Schult had previously built icon signage.

On the digital signage front, in 2008, Schult rolled out over 4,000 digital menu boards for Regal Cinemas, at over 300 locations. This award-winning project commanded national attention for its scope, size and complexity.

On the reimaging services front, Schult has become a “preferred vendor” for YUM! Express Brands (KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell), receiving numerous awards from them since 2004. In 2011, we were named Vendor of the Year for Godfather’s Pizza and we’re also preferred vendor for AAFES (operator of food services on military bases) and we service Travel Centers of America.

Schult customers continue to depend on us because we have continuously demonstrated an ability to create and execute cost efficient solutions. All of our long-standing relationships started small with “homework assignments” that developed into much more. We eagerly look forward to new opportunities and challenges.
